The goal of the program is to improve Finland’s long-term competitiveness and increase exports by encouraging companies to develop internationally successful solutions for the carbon-neutrality challenges of selected partner cities. The largest challenges in urban environments are related to the built environment, energy, and traffic. In the future, solutions will operate more and more as one integrated system. For example, electric car charging will be a part of the energy system. Cities in Finland and abroad will have a role as testing and reference platforms, and cities will engage in long-term research and business relationships.
About Program
The program will enhance the creation of cross-sectoral solutions and offerings that cities need to reduce their CO2 emissions and to speed-up their energy transition today and tomorrow. Cities in Finland and abroad can have a role as testing and reference platforms, and long-term relationships will be established with cities across the world.
The program has launched in early 2023 and the kick off event was held in Helsinki on Tuesday April 18th. In the event, cities presented their current challenges and companies, researches, and city representatives had an opportunity to network.
If you were not able to attend the event, you can find the event recording below from the "Materials" section.

The program will establish long-term partnerships with selected cities across the world and enable solution development for their challenges. Initial cooperation with the cities of Madrid, Los Angeles, and Singapore as well as several Swedish cities has been started in the first phase. More partner cities will be selected after the kick-off of the program based on the interest and internationalization capabilities of the participants.
